Position Overview & Clinical Scope:
A long-term care and skilled nursing facility in northern Michigan is seeking a Temporary Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for night-shift coverage. Working under the supervision of nursing leadership, the CNA delivers direct nursing care, maintains resident safety, and executes individualized care plans in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities & Clinical Duties
Direct Patient Care & Nursing Support:
- Care Plan Execution: Deliver direct nursing and personal care through ongoing implementation and evaluation of established resident care plans.
- Environment & Safety: Maintain a clean, secure, and compliant environment to ensure resident and patient safety at all times.
- Care Delegation & Supervision: Assist with guiding and supervising resident care activities performed by auxiliary nursing assistants and helpers.
Compliance & Standards:
- Adhere strictly to the state Nurse Practice Act, facility policies, procedures, and applicable Joint Commission (JCAHO) accreditation standards.
Candidate Submission & Qualification Requirements
Experience & Certifications:
- Clinical Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of current Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Long-Term Care (LTC), or Med-Surg experience [REQUIRED].
- State Licensure: Active Michigan CNA License/Registration verified in good standing at submission [REQUIRED].
- Life Support: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) [REQUIRED; copy must be uploaded].
- Work Climate: Must demonstrate resilience and ability to thrive in a high-paced, high-stress work environment [REQUIRED].
Facility & Agency Requirements:
- Scheduling Flexibility: Blocked scheduling is not available; clinicians must remain flexible with scheduling needs.
- Background Check Requirement: Submitting agency MUST have an active Michigan iCHAT account and be authorized to schedule state fingerprinting [REQUIRED].
- Health Requirements: COVID-19 vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions considered on a case-by-case basis [REQUIRED].
