Role Overview
Seeking a full-time, permanent Outpatient Therapist (LMSW / LLMSW / LPC / LLPC / LLP / TLLP) for an Adult Behavioral Health program in Southgate, MI. The therapist will conduct intake evaluations, deliver direct individual and group psychotherapy for adults and families dealing with mental health and co-occurring substance abuse disorders, and coordinate person-centered treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities & Clinical Scope:
- Clinical Assessment & Therapy: Conduct intake evaluations and deliver individual and group therapy for adults presenting with mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders using Person-Centered Planning principles.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate care with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, case managers, and support networks.
- Documentation & Discharge Planning: Maintain timely electronic clinical records and documentation; coordinate discharge planning prior to case closure.
- Compliance & Professional Development: Complete 24 hours of annual training in adult mental health/substance use treatment; participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and case consultations.
Qualifications & Candidate Requirements:
- Education & Licensure: Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling with active Michigan licensure (LMSW, LLMSW, LPC, LLPC, LLP, or TLLP) [REQUIRED].
- Clinical Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience treating individuals diagnosed with mental illness (fieldwork/internship hours accepted) [REQUIRED].
- Credentialing: Must obtain Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) status within 120 days of hire [REQUIRED].
- Attributes: Strong written/verbal communication, organizational skills, independent clinical judgment, and cultural competency working with diverse populations.
- Restrictions: Visa sponsorship unavailable (J-1/H-1B candidates not accepted). Direct applicants to the facility are strictly ineligible for agency placement.
Schedule & Work Environment:
- Shift Schedule: Day Shift | Standard operating window Monday – Friday (37.5 hours/week; flexible scheduling available between 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM M-Th, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Fri, and 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM Sat).
- Weekend Requirements: Varies based on program needs.
- On-Call Requirements: None.
