Position Overview & Clinical Scope:
A regional health center in central Kansas is seeking an Informatics Pharmacist to integrate clinical pharmacy expertise with healthcare technology. This role focuses on optimizing pharmacy IT systems, managing medication automation workflows, driving regulatory compliance, and supporting drug diversion monitoring across the hospital and affiliated care sites.

Core Responsibilities & Technical Scope:
  • System Optimization: Support, build, and maintain pharmacy informatics platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and clinical software workflows to drive operational efficiency and medication safety.
  • Automation & Technology Management: Oversee and configure automated dispensing cabinets, smart IV pumps, barcoding/scanning systems, and drug diversion monitoring tools.
  • Medication Safety & Compliance: Analyze medication utilization data, monitor drug diversion reporting platforms, and ensure compliance across the medication supply chain.
  • Clinical Practice: Provide patient-centered pharmaceutical care, maintain dispensing accuracy, and deliver drug information services in accordance with hospital standards and pharmacy regulations.

Candidate Qualification Requirements:
Licensure & Education:
  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSPharm) from an accredited pharmacy program [REQUIRED].
  • State Licensure: Active Kansas Pharmacist License (or eligibility to obtain prior to start) [REQUIRED].

Experience & Skills:
  • Clinical Foundation: Clinical pharmacy practice experience combined with a strong interest or training in pharmacy informatics [REQUIRED].
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with health system EHRs, pharmacy automation, and medication safety/diversion platforms [PREFERRED].
