Position Overview:
We are seeking a Registered Dietitian (RD) for a full-time, permanent position serving a healthcare center in Brattleboro, VT. This dual-focus role manages nutritional services across inpatient rehab (50%), long-term care (40%), and quality improvement projects (10%).

You will work closely with medical staff, speech therapists, and dietary teams to deliver evidence-based clinical nutrition, assess high-risk patients, and prepare LTC units for regulatory survey readiness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for high-risk patients, new admissions, and consults.
  • Develop and manage individualized nutrition and hydration care plans for long-term care residents.
  • Evaluate residents for weight fluctuations, wound healing, and specialized nutritional support needs.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and dietary management in interdisciplinary care conferences.
  • Document clinical evaluations and reassessments in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Participate in meal rounding, menu evaluations, quality improvement initiatives, and state/JCAHO survey preparation.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food & Nutrition (or related field) from an accredited institution [REQUIRED].
  • Registration: Active Registered Dietitian (RD) status with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) [REQUIRED].
    • Registry-eligible candidates may be considered if examination is scheduled within 3 months of hire.
  • Clinical Knowledge: Strong understanding of medical nutrition therapy for diabetes, renal care, cardiac care, and long-term care [REQUIRED].
  • Experience: Prior inpatient clinical, outpatient counseling, or long-term care experience [HIGHLY PREFERRED].
