Shift / Work Schedule: Night Shift

Position Overview & Clinical Scope:
A long-term care and nursing facility in northwestern Pennsylvania is seeking a Night Shift RN House Supervisor. This role oversees resident care operations, supervises Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), maintains state/federal regulatory compliance, and ensures clinical safety across the facility during night shift operations.

Core Responsibilities & Clinical Scope:
  • Shift Supervision: Direct day-to-day nursing activities, adjust shift staffing assignments, monitor CNA documentation, oversee infection control compliance, and support CNAs on the floor as needed.
  • Clinical Care & Medication: Administer/record medications, perform treatments and glucose checks, transcribe physician orders, conduct narcotic counts, collect lab specimens, and provide direct resident care as necessary.
  • EHR & Documentation: Utilize Physician's Computer Company (PCC) EHR for care plan updates, monthly resident summaries, incident reporting, and medication/drug disposal logging.
  • Change of Condition & Transfers: Respond to critical condition changes, execute resident transfer protocols, notify family/department leads, and oversee post-mortem procedures.
  • Leadership & QA: Assist in new staff orientation, conduct team conferences, collect data for quality assurance initiatives, and assist the RN Supervisor with CNA performance evaluations and commendations.

Candidate Submission & Qualification Requirements
Licensure & Certifications:
  • State Licensure: Active Pennsylvania RN License or active PA Temporary Work Permit [REQUIRED AT INTERVIEW].
  • Life Support: Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification [REQUIRED].
  • Health Compliance: COVID-19 Vaccination [REQUIRED]; ability to pass employment physicals and remain free of communicable diseases.

Experience & Competencies:
  • Experience Level: Open to New Graduates; prior Long-Term Care / Nursing Home experience [PREFERRED].
  • Clinical Knowledge: Strong background in nursing theory, medical asepsis, body mechanics, emergency judgment, and long-term care resident needs.
